With Love! 🫶🏾 If you're existing on the internet like the rest of us, you've likely heard the ongoing conversations of elder millennials and younger ones alike about feeling less inclined to go out and "party" but still wanting to gather publicly with friends. While I can't completely agree—I will likely be partying until my final days—I will say that I've absolutely hungered for a space to socialize and meet new people without the pressure of typical nightlife. Introducing CTRL-ALTÉ-RPT, where you can unwind with uninterrupted alternative and genre-bending afro-centered sounds, along with a game or two to melt the ice with a new friend or potential lover. Here, we release rigidity and submerge where the best of alternative afrobeats, reggae & r&b’ meet. I've long loved alté music and wished it was played at parties, even in the beginning of the night since it's a sexier, more relaxed genre, but I haven't really experienced that here in Chicago. After pitching this event countless times, I've finally have found a space to host it and I really hope to see you there. Even if you don't listen to alté (listen to this if you don't), swing by with a friend (or come solo and meet a friend or two) and learn the groove. I'm honored to be joined by Mike Abrantie, whose long put the work in to push African music in Chicago. I'll be providing games but you're welcome to bring your own board games, card games and handheld video games. There will be plenty of seating plus food and drinks available to purchase from Koi Noodles as well. Come and show the owners of event spaces that these are the kinds of events you'd like to see. Your support means the world to me. Tickets are only $5 but limited as we're hosting in a more intimate space. Grab your ticket for November 14!
Skate Night Spooktacular Tonight I'll be back at the Chicago Athletic Association for their Halloween Skate Night! I'm on for the 8PM session! Everywhere Between: Halloween! As Dyaspara and a global music lover this was destined to happen! I'll be making my Everywhere Between debut this Saturday, spinning alongside the magnificent DJ/Producer AQUTIE plus DJs and curators DJ Mochi and DJ Iggy. I'm so excited! I'll be warming up the night so get there early! Tickets are sold out but a few will be available at the door. Juls at JAMA! Recap Now.. y'all ask me to upload my mixes often.. and I forget to hit save EVERY time. It's really because I try to ensure a smooth run of show and basically get out of the next DJ's way lol.. but I will keep trying. This was another set I forgot to hit the save button BUT I was recording on my camera so take it or leave it. This was such an amazing night! All the DJs—KAxG, JaexJay, and Juls—were fantastic. I literally danced all night and couldn't feel my feet the next day. I hope you enjoy!

With Love! 🫶🏾 Shoutout to everyone who came through for Dyasphonic! It was so heartwarming to see new and familiar faces on the dancefloor for the party's comeback! I'm so excited to continue curating this party for those of us in love with the expansiveness of Blackness and our sounds. August was a complete whirlwind for me. I...
Imagine.. it's 2007 and spiked belts from the beauty supply store are all the rave, you live and breathe DatPiff.com for the latest Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane releases, smartphones are becoming thee thing so you're begging your mom to get you a sidekick phone so you can finally trash your flimsy flip phone for good, then, the next year—right before Christmas at that—Souljaboy releases "Kiss Me Thru the Phone." These are some of my formative memories growing up in the early 2000s. Whenever...
Dyasphonic is finally back!! You all don’t know how badly I’ve been wanting to bring my first party series back! We had sooo much fun dancing to global bangers, edits, and new releases until the sun came up last year! If you're new here, ḍyasphonic.dance is a dance party that adds spice to your favorite unappreciated genres and blends global tunes that are birthed in Black communities across the globe. At ḍyasphonic, DJs spin the sounds of their heart. For me, that's everything from Afrohouse...
